Using CBD To Relieve Alzheimer’s

Alzheimer’s disease refers to a neurodegenerative, chronic disorder that is associated with progressive neuronal loss as well as cognitive decline. Typically, the disease affects elderly people between the age of 65 and 80 years. The cause of Alzheimer’s disease is multi-factorial and it includes genetics and unknown etiology. Alzheimer’s disease patients suffer long and short-term memory loss, cognitive impairment, and speech difficulties. A disturbing and dramatic symptom of this disease is the general loss of the patient’s social recognition. In most cases, patients can’t recognize even their children. Alzheimer’s disease causes irreversible brain changes and this makes improving the symptoms of it very difficult.

Studies on CBD as Alzheimer’s disease Relief Supplement

Past studies have indicated that CBD may help with Alzheimer’s disease due to its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and neuro-protective effects. But, since progression of this disease is irreversible in nature, making real breakthroughs is not easy. However, Australian scientists have found that long-term administration of oral CBD enhances social recognition.

During the study, 20kg/mg of CBD were administered in mice every day before they showed the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease. And, the results were impressive because the mice did not develop any social recognition deficit. CBD was also proven effective in improving the symptoms of mice with full-fledged Alzheimer’s disease. Although the mice showed some of the other symptoms, they generally depicted better cognition when CBD was administered for longer periods. According to scientists, the effects can be associated with CBD-induced retention of the dietary phytosterols or the neuro-inflammatory processes in the mice brains.

Facilitating Neurogenesis

A notable benefit of CBD is its ability to regulate neurogenesis that takes place in the hippocampus. This is a process through which new neurons are generated. Scientists have discovered that people with Alzheimer’s disease have impaired neurogenesis. Thus, CBD can be used as a therapeutic aid for Alzheimer’s disease by promoting neurogenesis as well as memory performance.

Using CBD to Relieve Symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease

It’s important to note that the general cannabis that is easily available in the streets is different from CBD. CBD is a cannabinoid that is derived from cannabis plant but it does not have THC which is addictive and responsible for the high feeling. It’s, therefore, important to ensure that you are using the right CBD product to relieve Alzheimer’s disease.

We have a vast collection of quality CBD products for sale. These include CBD oil, CBD edibles, CBD gummies, CBD drip, CBD tincture and CBD wax among others.
