The Purpose of Dabbing

The goal of dabbing is to consume the wellness benefits of a CBD-based or THC-based concentrate through smoking and inhalation.

This is completed by lighting a concentrate on fire to create smoke, commonly referred to as vapor; a much more bioavailable wellness intake method.

Furthermore, when adding high heat (fire) to the concentrate, it will also burn off the active acid molecule from the cannabinoid.  This leaves the dabber with a different cannabinoid.  A purer, more potent cannabinoid.

Here is an example of the above:

THCA is non-psychotropic (no euphoric high involved) while THC minus the “A” is, as you know, very psychotropic.

TYPES OF CANNABIS/HEMP CONCENTRATES

As you probably already very well know, the types of products needed for dabbing are Cannabis/Hemp-derived concentrates.

We’ve listed the two most popular and widely used concentrates below:

THC-RICH Marijuana or cbd-rich Hemp Wax

We offer CBD wax as a dab option which is Full Spectrum (entourage effect) and infused with terpenes for a more enjoyable user experience.

THC-Rich Marijuana or CBD-Rich Hemp Crystals

We offer CBD crystals AKA CBD Shatter as our Pure CBD dab option, which we infuse with terpenes as well to enhance user experience.

TOOLS & DEVICES

In this “budding” hemp market, there are many THC as well as CBD products hitting the retail market.  Question is, how do you choose which one is best and/or reliable?

Remove that worry from your conscience.

We’ve done the research and here are the tools and where you can buy them that we absolutely recommend for a successful dab experience:

  • dab cartridge
  • atomizer
  • vaporizer
  • dab rig
  • nail
  • e-nail

The only thing we really need to stress here is to make sure that the cartridges you purchase are clearly labeled that it can be used for dabbing and not only for vaping. This is very important because the right cartridge comes with a larger opening allowing you to get your cannabis concentrate into the cartridge.

We pitch the vitalness of the above because it’s actually the very first step in our following section which offers a comprehensive step-by-step guide on how to dab properly.

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

Now that you know the purpose of dabbing, the types of Cannabis concentrates available as well as the tools/devices needed, we can now share our step-by-step guide which will teach you exactly how to dab from A-Z.

STEP 1: heat up your dab rig using a torch

THE GOAL HERE IS TO APPLY THE FIRE/HEAT EVENLY ON ALL SIDES. THIS WILL LEAD TO A BETTER DAB.

STEP 2: ADD CANNABIS CONCENTRATE USING Dab nail

You want to position yourself to get ready to take a hit as you add the concentrate. That way, you don’t lose any of the vapor to the air by not being ready to inhale.

STEP 3: Turn Your Nail In Circles And Inhale

You want to do this step at a medium to fast pace. This will ensure an even distribution of heat as you use your dab nail to stir the concentrate against the bowl. This disallows the concentrate to only be heated on one side. The strength of your inhale should be strong enough to not allow any vapors to leave the bowl.

STEP 4: HOLD IN THE VAPOR FOR AS LONG AS YOU CAN

A good timeline to go by is about 10-15 seconds. The purpose of holding in the vapors is to allow the vapors to bind to the “branches” and lining of your lungs. This will ensure that the effects will be given and the wellness benefits have the opportunity to easily cross the blood-brain barrier.

STEP 5: IMPORTANT! DON'T OVER DAB IT

Now, don’t overexert yourself or try to be that person that always goes overboard by doing too much and holding it in too long. Dabbing concentrates is very similar to melting wax and the sticky wax-like residue will harden again once cooled. You don’t want to feel it in your lungs or throat when it does. It really is a buzzkill.

STEP 5: EXHALE, RELAX, & ENJOY

Slowly exhale all smoke and vapors from your lungs. CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR FIRST DAB!

The work is done and now, all you have to do is lay back, relax, and enjoy your dab.

FINAL THOUGHTS FROM THE AUTHOR

Christopher Visser

Christopher Visser

Founder & CEO at Cannabidiol Life

I really do believe that the term “CBD dabs” came from pure coincidence and was completely accidental. Check it out, here’s the scenario in my head:

THE BIRTH OF DABS (possible conversation/scenario):

  • The Question:   “How much cannabis concentrate are we supposed to smoke?”
  • The Answer: “Um, just do a small dab to be safe.”

It’s possible, right?!

Healthy Regards,
Christopher Visser
