This simple, but delicious, CBD chocolate chip cookie recipe is our very favorite. We consider this recipe to be one of the very best for cookies with a copious amount of chocolate, a warm gooey center, and the added health benefits of CBD!

This recipe makes about 20 cookies:

8 1/2 ounces cake flour about 2 cups minus 1 tbsp

8 1/2 ounces bread flour 1 2/3 cup

1 1/4 tsp of baking soda

1 1/2 tsp of baking powder

1 tsp ground nutmeg

1 1/2 tsp salt

3 tsp cornstarch

200-500 mg CBD oil* (See note)

1 1/4 cup unsalted butter

10 ounces dark brown sugar 1 1/4 cup

8 ounces granulated sugar 1 cup plus 2 tbsp

2 eggs

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 1/4 pounds dark chocolate pieces, add sea salt if you wish


NOTE: We recommend using 200 mg of CBD for roughly a 10 mg dose per cookie. Alternatively if you want a stronger dose per cookie you could use 500 mg of CBD oil to give each cookie approximately 25 mg of CBD. However, if you increase the dosage, you may want to remove a tablespoon or two of butter to balance out adding more CBD oil in order to prevent the cookies from becoming too oily.

CBD Chocolate Chip Cookies

Step 1: Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, cornstarch and salt into a bowl. Set aside.

Step 2: Using a mixer with egg beater attachment(s), cream the butter, CBD, and sugars together until very lightly mixed. This should take about 5 minutes. 

Step 3: Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each one. Stir in vanilla. Reduce speed to low and add dry ingredients. Then mix them together until just combined. This should only take about five to ten seconds. 

Step 4: Evenly mix in chocolate chips and incorporate them without breaking them if possible. Press plastic wrap against dough and refrigerate for 24 to 36 hours. The dough may be used in batches, and can be refrigerated for up to 72 hours.

Step 5: When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a nonstick baking mat. Set aside. 

Step 6: Scoop six 3 1/2-ounce mounds of dough (roughly the size of golf balls) evenly onto the baking sheet spread out at least 2-3 inches apart. Sprinkle lightly with sea salt if desired and bake until golden brown, but still soft. Around 18 to 20 minutes.

Step 7: When done baking, allow the cookies to cool on the sheet for roughly 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
