Where Can I Buy CBD Water

Where Can I Buy CBD Water

Asking yourself “where can I buy CBD water?” We’ve got ya covered! Our product guide below offers buyer information, store locations, and even law resources.

The Answer:

If you are interested in learning where I can CBD water online, click here.

Additionally, if you would like to find where I can buy CBD water at a shop near me, try Cannabidiol Life’s CBD Oil Near Me page to find local CBD stores in your area.

This is a state by state guide where you can browse local CBD shops. Please be aware that some areas require you to have a prescription for cannabidiol in order to purchase CBD water. Additionally you should always talk to a doctor before using a CBD product, specifically if you are taking any other medications.

CBD water is harder to find than CBD oil so we recommend to shop online, or call around in your area to find a local store that carries it. CBD water is legal in 47 out of the 50 states, so long as it is derived from industrial hemp that contains less than 0.3% THC, per the federal regulations.

Always check local and state laws regarding CBD in your area. For more information, check out our post entitled Are CBD Products Legal. If you have any difficulty understanding the laws in your area, or have any concerns, you can always contact your local government official for advice.

How to make CBD Dog Treats

How to make CBD Dog Treats

If you have pets and are also interested in CBD, there’s a chance you’ve been researching CBD pet treats. This guide will tell you how to make your own CBD pet treats at home.

The Answer:

Ever wanted to try making your own CBD dog treats at home? Below are a few of the ways listed from easiest to hardest for your convenience.

Note: It may be best to buy pre-made CBD dog treats from a reputable company, as these companies make sure each treat contains a specific amount of CBD. You should never give CBD products to your dog that are not derived from industrial hemp, and always consult with your vet before giving your dog a new supplement.

We suggest giving your dog the CBD pet oil directly for a while to determine how they handle specific quantities of CBD. Start with the lowest recommended dose and work your way up from there. Once you find the right amount of CBD per dose for your dog, you will know exactly how many drops of oil, or how many mg of CBD to put in each treat when you make them yourself.

You do not need to worry about using more CBD however, as it is generally well tolerated by humans and dogs alike and there are no reported cases of overdose from CBD. Side effects are rare and generally mild and include common symptoms like drowsiness or nausea and/or changes in appetite.

If your dog starts having any of these symptoms after ingesting CBD, stop giving it to them and they should return to normal. Be sure to take your dog to the vet if you are concerned about their health for any reason.

HOW TO MAKE CBD Dog Treats Guide

Add CBD Oil to Ready-made Dog Treats:

This is by far the simplest way to make your own CBD dog treats at home. Simply put a few drops of CBD oil on your dog’s favorite treat. The trick is to get the oil to soak in so it might be best to use a treat that is capable of absorbing the oil. Porous dog treats are best for this, they are the type that look granular or have little holes in them.

Add CBD Oil to Frozen Dog Treats:

Another simple way to make CBD dog treats is adding CBD to frozen treats. Most frozen dog treats are prepared in batches so some math is required. You should multiply the number of treats the recipe will make by the number of CBD oil drops your pet needs and add that to the recipe. You can make a frozen dog treat mix of your choice and place individual portions in an ice cube tray, add the appropriate amount of oil to each “cube” and then mix well. Consider purchasing a dog paw shaped ice cube tray for extra style.

Homemade No-Bake CBD Dog Treats:

If you don’t want to put CBD oil on a premade treat, or a frozen treat, you can still make no-bake dog treats. You’ll want to pick a CBD dog treat recipe that calls for some kind of oil so you can replace all or part of what the recipe calls for with CBD oil. It may be best to look for recipes with coconut oil as this bonds extremely well with CBD oil and is generally safe for dogs to eat. Avoid excessive amounts of oil as this can upset your dogs stomach, additionally some dogs can be allergic to coconut oil.

No-bake dog treats are softer than baked dog treats so, while these are a great option, they can crumble easily.

Baked Homemade Dog Treats:

Baking CBD treats for your dog is basically the same process as how to make CBD edibles. If you have experience doing this already, it will probably help you.

Keep in mind that the lower the temperature when baking, the less the chances are that any of the CBD will evaporate. Generally, CBD is completely degraded at temperatures in excess of 325 degrees F so avoid baking at high heat.

The general consensus is that the baking temperature should not exceed 350 degrees. You can either choose recipes that don’t require baking at higher temperatures or lower the recommended baking temperature and just extend the baking time accordingly.

There is some risk involved that each treat will not contain the amount of CBD you intended, but this should not matter much as each treat will certainly contain some CBD.

What is CBD Vape Oil?

What is CBD Vape Oil?

Whether it’s your first time using CBD vape, or you’re a veteran, it never hurts to brush up on what CBD vape juice actually is. Read and decide if it is the right fit for your health and wellness.

The Answer:

Simply put, CBD vape oil or CBD vape juice is any vape juice that contains CBD instead of nicotine. Some start pure and are then mixed with existing flavors, while others are pre-mixed blends. If you would like to learn more about CBD or shop for CBD vape oil, please click here.

Is CBD vape juice the same as CBD oil?

CBD vape juice, also known as CBD e-liquid, CBD vape oil or CBD e-juice, is different from regular CBD oil. While it’s true that CBD vape juice is CBD oil in liquid form, it is specially formulated in order to be heated and inhaled via a vape pen, a vaporizer, or an E-cigarette. Often times this oil can be purchased in a bottle for refilling a vaporizer or can also be purchased in the form of a one-time use cartridge for a vape pen.1

CBD vape juice and CBD oil are similar, but they are not the same. The following differences occur between them
2:

  • CBD vape juice and CBD oil differ from each other in a few distinct ways. You inhale CBD vape juice or viscous liquids with a vape pen, while you consume CBD oil orally by placing it under the tongue. Eventually, CBD enters your bloodstream in both cases. Nevertheless, these methods are not interchangeable which means that you cannot ingest vape juice or vape regular CBD oil.
  • Bioavailability is the amount of CBD content that really gets absorbed into your bloodstream. Vaping happens to have the highest bioavailability (40-50%), followed by CBD oil tinctures (20-30%) and CBD edibles (5-15%).

How is CBD vape oil made?

The steps involved in making CBD vape juice are similar to those of CBD oil and include grinding of the flower buds, extraction and purification of CBD oil. However, as opposed to CBD oil, CBD vape juice is mixed with thinning agents such as vegetable glycerine, propylene glycol or polyethylene glycol. The thinning agents decrease the viscosity of the oil and cause the juice to take on a more “liquid” form. This allows it to function with the heater coils found on a standard vape pen. Various other additives and isolates can be added to make thousands of different products.3

As with other CBD products, start with a low dose of vape juice increasing it gradually depending upon your requirement and convenience. Always discuss taking CBD with your doctor before use. CBD is known to interact with certain medications, especially those metabolized in the liver.

What is CBD Isolate

What is CBD Isolate

CBD isolate is used to create all manor of CBD products from oils to topicals. But what exactly do we mean when we say isolate?

The Answer:

CBD isolate is pure CBD with a crystalline solid or powder form and is over 98-99% pure. In crystalline form, CBD is very versatile and can be consumed in several ways. There may be certain benefits to using pure CBD powder over other forms of CBD. All other cannabinoids and plant impurities are removed before preparing CBD isolate for consumption.

Learning more about CBD Isolate is well worth the effort, if you plan on using cannabis-based products for the long term.

Simply put, CBD Isolate is a chemical component derived from cannabis plants like hemp. It is touted as the purest form of cannabis, primarily because of the way manufacturers separate, (or isolate, hence the name) the CBD from the other components of the plant.

Leaving behind pure CBD Isolate all by itself, and because it no longer contains THC, CBD does not get the user high. This is good news for people who may be worried about THC content in hemp-derived products. CBD isolate offers them a way to still enjoy the potential therapeutic benefits of CBD without the other unwanted plant material and effects.

More info about CBD Isolate

Isolate is typically vaporized, or dabbed, on what is known as a traditional dabs rig. This pure compound will not create ash as there is no burning plant material. It is for this reason that CBD isolate is one of the most distinct and versatile forms of CBD available on the market today. If vaping pure CBD sounds better than smoking raw hemp flower then isolate could be the right product for you. Learn more about how to take CBD.

A traditional extraction process is used to remove all the active compounds of the cannabis plant, followed by a refinement process that further strips away all the other phytocannabinoids. Depending on this refinement process, the result will either be a large CBD crystals or a fine white powder that resembles sugar. CBD isolate should contain a distinct odor or taste, but this flavor can be altered with terpenes.

One can easily differentiate between CBD isolate powder and CBD crystals. Powder is broken down into small grains and differs in appearance from the pure crystalline form, in which the CBD crystals are thicker and larger.

CBD Isolate vs. Full Spectrum CBD

The main difference between these two forms of cannabidiol is that while CBD Isolate is extracted from cannabis plants as a standalone product with no additional compounds included, full spectrum CBD contains multiple chemical compounds, including trace amounts of THC.

While full spectrum CBD does contain an extremely small amount of THC (about 0.3%), CBD Isolate doesn’t have any THC.

Always discuss using CBD with your doctor before taking it or starting a CBD regiment. CBD can interact with certain medications, especially those that are metabolized in the liver.

Its a little repetitive but CBD isolate as a product benefits from isolating cannabidiol.

Now that we have an understanding about what CBD isolate really is I hope this information will help serve you if you decide to use it or explain it to others.

How to use CBD Isolate

How to use CBD Isolate

You might know what CBD isolate is, and even purchased your first batch, but lets walk through how to use it.

The Answer:

While you might not know exactly what to do with a pile of CBD isolate powder at first glance, CBD isolate can actually be used in a number of different ways. In fact, in addition to its purity, one of the best aspects of CBD isolate is its versatility. As we’ll discuss in more detail below, whether it’s sublingual administration or mixing it with food and drinks, this crystalline powdered CBD can be concocted into several different methods of consumption. Below, we’ve laid out the main ways in which a person could use CBD isolate in its various forms. They are as follows:

Inhalation

CBD isolate, if not already, can be mixed with terpenes to create homemade CBD concentrates that may be vaped or dabbed. The isolate could also be made into crystal slabs that can be dabbed on a traditional oil rig.

Ingestion

Manufacturers may produce CBD crystals in capsule or pill form, allowing you to ingest an accurate measured dose. You can also mix CBD isolate with a variety of ingredients to create CBD-infused food and drinks. It’s important to know that CBD is not absorbed very well by the digestive system. In order to increase bioavailability, CBD isolate can be added to carrier oils, such as coconut or olive oil, to increase its chances of permeating the gastrointestinal system and reaching the bloodstream.

Sublingual

To take CBD isolate sublingually, you can apply the CBD powder directly underneath your tongue and hold the CBD there for about a minute. In this method, the CBD is absorbed by the mucous membranes and delivered directly to the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system and liver to provide more immediate and effective relief.

In general, taking CBD Isolate as a powder directly under the tongue might be the easiest and the most effective way of taking CBD Isolate. The product may be odorless and tasteless, although many users do mix it with liquids or food when they ingest CBD Isolate in order to make the taste pleasant.

A More In-Depth Look At CBD Isolate Use

Other Methods of Consumption

Manufacturers often mix CBD Isolate into a variety of products such as edible gummies, or creams that can be rubbed into the skin. This kind of topical application is however, less common when it comes to methods of consuming CBD isolate.

Ease of Use

It’s also incredibly easy to measure CBD isolate dosages, as there’s nothing else to account for aside from the pure CBD crystals. With other CBD-based products, such as broad-spectrum and full-spectrum CBD oil, the cannabinoid is mixed with other ingredients, making it more difficult to quantify the exact amount of CBD that is being consumed. This makes it much easier to figure out potential dosing amounts. Calculating the dosage levels with CBD Isolate is easy to do. Any small quality household scale should do. Because Isolate is separated from other compounds, measuring the dosage in milligrams gives you the exact amount of CBD you need, per the package directions.

By and large, for every one milligram of CBD powder, the consumer is ingesting one milligram of CBD. Dosage amounts do vary based on the consumer’s body weight and his or her other unique needs, it’s always best to start with a low dose of CBD Isolate at first under doctor supervision.

Typically you may feel the full effects of CBD isolate within 60 to 90 minutes of taking CBD Isolate orally, and within a 3-5 minutes of inhaling.

Potential Drawbacks to CBD Isolate

While CBD isolate may sound like the best approach for CBD use in some people, keep in mind that there are also a key disadvantages to isolating CBD from other cannabis compounds. The main one being that you lose what is known as the “entourage effect” when you sacrifice the other cannabinoids present in cannabis plants strictly for CBD.

However, this can still be a good thing for people who are looking to avoid THC. That said, it’s important to shop with a reputable company who can verify the content of their products with third party lab tests. It’s worth checking the package or bottle to make sure there is no THC in the CBD Isolate.

The Answer:

There are various processes that can be used to produce CBD isolate from CBD after it has been extracted from industrial hemp.

The same kinds of extraction methods, such as supercritical carbon dioxide (CO2) or ethanol-based extractions, can be used as a starting point for the production of CBD isolate in the same way they can be used to produce CBD oil and other CBD products.

However, CBD isolate must be further refined by separating from the rest of the extraction, which is done through a series of washing and separation processes.

Winterization effectively separates the lipids, waxes, and fats from the extract. This is also followed by a removal of impurities and unwanted plant particles. Then, these chemicals then need to be removed from the resulting extract. This is typically done with rotary evaporators and falling-film units. These devices utilize heat and pressure to carefully separate solvents from compounds like CBD.

Then the remaining cannabis compounds must be refined further through a method called preparative chromatography in which a special machine separates cannabinoids by putting them through various chemicals at different speeds.

Because additional chemicals are introduced in this process, they must then be removed again by a distillation process before the final product can be prepared for consumption. Once all of the impurities and solvents are stripped away, what’s left is 99% pure crystalline CBD.

How to Make CBD Oil or Topicals with Isolate

You could make your own CBD products at home using isolate by simply mixing CBD isolate with a carrier oil, such as coconut or olive oil, in order to make your own CBD oil. This will allow you to enjoy the convenience of more conventional CBD products in a potentially cost effective way. For CBD topicals, simply infuse the CBD isolate with any skin oil you like and apply as desired.

The Idea:

Cooking with CBD isolate is easier than most people realize, and can be rewarding too.

Meals that were once boring can become inspired by you and suddenly become more interesting. You can turn any recipe into a cannabidiol recipe by simply using CBD isolate powder in a carrier oil and substituting that oil for the oil the recipe calls for.

If you have ever used a double boiler, then you may be familiar with how to mix ingredients together in a way that uses less heat so they blend more evenly and do not burn. This kind of double boiling method is used to simply control the heat for ingredients you wouldn’t want to be exposed to high heat, such as cannabidiol. The double boiling method is important because it is you can turn pure CBD isolate powder into an ingredient that can be used in just about any recipe. When cooking with CBD isolate, you will always want to first infuse the CBD isolate with a carrier oil.

A Deeper Look into CBD Isolate Recipes

What is a Carrier Oil?

Simply put, a carrier oil, also known as a base oil, is a plant-derived oil which is used to “carry” essential oils and plant supplements like CBD. Essential oils and plant supplements can be overly potent or difficult for us to absorb directly, so carrier oils are used to help facilitate the process. Some carrier oils have different benefits can have different results depending on the different plants they are mixed with.

For example, unrefined coconut MCT oil provides better absorption of CBD than other carrier oils. MCT oil also happens to be one of the best carrier oils to use when cooking with CBD isolate because it is relatively tasteless.

You can experiment with different doses, but a good simple rule of thumb is that if you are cooking with one gram of CBD isolate powder, you’ll want to use 1-2 teaspoons of carrier oil.

When the water in your double boiler is boiling you will want to add your carrier oil and the isolate to the smaller inner pot for mixing. You will need to stir the mixture for about 10-15 minutes. Be sure to blend your isolate with the carrier oil well. Once it is fully mixed and of one consistency, turn off your boiler and allow it to fully cool. Once cooled pour your CBD infused carrier oil into a separate container for further use in cooking.

Another thing to keep in mind when cooking with CBD is the temperature. Higher temperatures can cause you to burn off the cannabidiol that you’re trying to infuse into your food. A good rule of thumb here is never cook CBD above 315 degrees F if you can help it.

Below is a simple recipe for CBD infused guacamole, although this is just an example. You can use your CBD and carrier oil in any recipe that calls for oil by substituting it.

Ingredients

Cilantro

Lime Juice

7 avocados (mashed)

½ diced onion (red)

1 tomato (diced)

3 jalapenos (diced)

3 serranos (diced)

4 cloves of garlic (diced)

Himalayan salt

Ground Black Pepper

½ gram CBD Isolate

1 tsp coconut MCT Oil

  1. Use the double boiling method to infuse CBD isolate with MCT oil
  2. Mix avocados, onions, tomato, garlic and peppers in a mixing bowl

What is CBD Water?

What is CBD Water?

CBD Water may sound basic, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some slight complexities to how it is produced. So what exactly is CBD water?

The Answer:

CBD water is a special form of water that has been mixed with a form of water soluble CBD. Water soluble CBD is made by dissolving CBD isolate or distillate into a colorless, flavorless, naturally-derived oil and then creating nanoscopic droplets of that oil with a high-pressure emulsifier. The result is a high-quality, stable additive with virtually no effect on the color, taste or mouthfeel. [1]  It is one of the newest forms to hit the market. Water soluble CBD uses special technology in order to increase bioavailability and blend with the water. The chemical compounds in water soluble CBD are broken down further in order to blend with the water in a way that regular CBD oil can’t. While it is becoming more widely available, this kind of CBD can still be harder to find, as CBD is typically in oil form, and does not mix well with water.

Water soluble CBD is quickly gaining popularity due to its convenience and benefits. After the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill in the United States, industrial hemp products are popping up on store shelves across the country due to federal legalization.[2] As a result, CBD is being added to virtually every product one can imagine. So, It only makes sense that CBD Water is appearing on the scene.

CBD WATER FAQ

What Are the Benefits of CBD Water?

One of the main benefits of CBD water is that it can be rapidly absorbed compared to other CBD products, such as CBD edibles due to the nanoscopic size of the CBD molecules. Research on the effects of nanotechnology on CBD absorption is limited. However, one study found that lipid-based CBD nanoparticles may be better absorbed by your body. [3] When CBD is combined with antioxidants in the water, it not only provides you with the benefits of CBD, but can also give your immune system a boost. [4]

Anecdotal evidence from some people who have taken CBD water reported faster recovery time after injury when using CBD water. Additionally CBD is known to help relieve pain,[5] and CBD water is no exception. Also, it doesn’t intoxicate you and generally looks like regular water, so it’s a great and convenient way to get your daily dose of CBD anywhere you want to go. Studies regarding CBD tout its potential as an effective anti inflammatory [6] and an anti-anxiolytic as well. [7]

What Are the Concerns with CBD Water?

Generally speaking, once the useful limit of vitamins has been reached the rest go to waste. When an excessive level of vitamins are detected in the body, they get flushed out. Fortunately this should not occur with CBD water, however like with anything, it is good to avoid excessive consumption.

Because the body uses minerals and other chemicals in different ways, it can be difficult to entirely remove certain toxic build up If you consume too much of a specific item. Fortunately you will not have this problem with CBD or CBD water, however it is possible to build up a tolerance to CBD that will cause you to require more to achieve the same effect. [8] Building up a tolerance can also cause CBD to be less effective, so it’s wise to use it sparingly, and only when needed.

While CBD water is considered safe, there are some researchers who are concerned that drinking too much could produce unexpected results. That’s why, as previously stated, it’s good to use CBD sparingly, and only when needed.

It should also be noted that taking CBD isolate instead of using the whole plant, or “Full-Spectrum” CBD products may reduce the effectiveness of the compound as well. Look for whole-plant cannabidiol products for best results. Ideally you should look for a CBD water product with a significant amount of CBD in order to avoid being scammed. A good CBD water product should have at least 15 mg of cannabidiol, and probably no more than 50 mg per bottle.

CBD FAQ Photo What is CBD Water?

CBD Water vs CBD Oil

CBD oils and edibles are by far the most common, and also some of the most popular CBD products available, but how do they compare to CBD water? As previously mentioned CBD water has a greater degree of bioavailability, and also generally offers a better flavor than full spectrum hemp oil. Another thing to consider when choosing between CBD water and other products is the price. Because of the extra processes involved in CBD water creation there are cost considerations to think about. CBD water can be expensive, with some brands charging as much as ten dollars for a single bottle. If used sparingly, CBD water can be a helpful addition to your workout regiment. It’s excellent for post workout recovery.

Now that water soluble CBD has been perfected we feel its time to enlighten consumers and help them decide if the product is potentially a fit for them.

CBD Water & Drinks Recipe

CBD Water & Drinks Recipe

Overview:

Making CBD Water at home is as straightforward as it sounds, combine high quality water or water based beverages with water soluble CBD. The only difficulty here is finding water soluble CBD from a reputable vendor. We believe water soluble CBD from liposomes to be the cleanest and most natural source, and would suggest to our patrons seeking it out for homebrew.

The only other important notes for making CBD beverages at home is knowing how much CBD to supplement, and to keep your beverages blow boiling. CBD has a natural boiling point between 320 and 356 degrees fahrenheit. So ensuring temperatures of drinks stay below this line is ideal. Boiling CBD loses terpenes, flavonoids, and cannabinoids, which is not ideal.

Knowing your suggested CBD intake is likewise important and should be studied before jumping in. Always check with your doctor before beginning any new form of supplementation. If dosages or recommendations don’t come directly from your Doctor it will take a bit of trial and error. Cannabidiol dosages change depending on what the desired goal is and what your target needs are. There is no specific amount of CBD that everyone should take. A general formula MMJ Joseph Rosado suggests is your “body weight x 0.325mg per day.” This is an ideal place to start.

Lets learn how to make CBD topicals at home with some Cannabidiol Life style!

The Basics:

Cannabidiol or CBD isolate is a pure crystalline form of extract usually achieved through CO^2 processing. The wonderful part of isolate as a product is that it can be bought in bulk and used for home goods. From CBD edibles to topicals the applications are endless.

Pick up some of our high quality, EPA compliant, GMP certified isolate and give some of our recipes a shot!

Creating products at home guarantees a safe clean environment, and cuts the middle man and extra costs of production, like grocery shopping versus eating out, it’s just generally more cost effective.

CBD Bathbomb Recipe

CBD Bath bomb are extremely fun to make and even more of a joy to use. They are also notoriously fickle, any change in the mixture can cause problems. It is best to use high quality ingredients. Citric Acid especially can cause clumping or drying. Ball brand canning citric acid works amazingly well for making CBD bath bombs at home. We cannot stress this enough.

To make bath bombs at home begin by mixing dry ingredients together in a mechanical mixer at very low speed. Mix a bit by hand to make sure no clumps or unincorporated parts at the bottom.

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 cups Baking Soda
  • 1.5 cup Citric Acid
  • 1.5 cups Cornstarch
  • 3 TBSP of Epsom Salt
  • CBD Isolate

Once fully combined with no clumping put on very low speed and add all wet ingredients

Wet Ingredients

  • 1.5 TBSP Jojoba Oil
  • 1 TBSP Rosehip Oil
  • 1 TBSP Argan Oil
  • 1 TBSP Water
  • 1 TBSP Alcohol
  • 1 TBSP Lavender Essential Oil Scent
  • 1 TBSP Coloring
  • 4 TBSP Cocoa Butter (Melted)

Allow this mixture to spin for 1-2 mins to fully combine. Stop the mixer and feel the mixture. It should feel like wet sand, and not grainy. Once fully combined use mixture with bath bomb press of choice and form. Once formed place to dry for 24 hours.

CBD Salve

INGREDIENTS for CBD Salve or CBD Balm:

  • 1 Cup Oil (any oil works, but we love coconut)
  • 1 oz. Beeswax or Soy Wax
  • 3g of CBD Isolate or Oil
  • (Optional – Essential Oils and/or Extracts)

DIRECTIONS:

  • Heat oil and wax using the double boiler tecnique. This involves having a pot with hot water, and another above it to absorb indirect heat (commonly used for melting chocolate).
  • Add your CBD preference to the warm base and stir until mixed. Make sure not to overheat.
  • Remove the mixture from the heat and allow to begin cooling.
  • Once your misture has cooled a bit you can add essential extracts if decided to use. Do not add to the balm if it is completely cooled.
  • Pour cooling mixture into a container like glass to finish.

cbd lotion

INGREDIENTS:

  • ¾ Cup Water
  • ¼ Cup Oil like coconut

Then add water slowly. Do not add to the balm if it is completely cooled. Mix thoroughly.
  • Pour cooling mixture into a container like glass to finish.

Extra Additives

Using CBD to make topicals at home is relatively straight forward. Adding extra extracts or essential oils is where recipes can begin to be a little more complicated. This is because there are so many to choose from. Below are some of our favorites and what we believe go well for CBD skin care.

  • Lavender: Lavender smells wonderful and this is mainly why you will find it in our bath bombs. Lavender may help reduce stress and anxiety, heal wounds, and clear acne.
  • Eucalyptus: The eucalyptus plant is  known in homeopathic care to function as an anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and anti-fungal. People also use it to help with dry skin, muscle pain, and acne.
  • Tea Tree: Tea tree oil is one of the most popular essential oils used for acne. When combined with CBD (which research shows maybe beneficial for acne-prone skin), you’ve got a potentially powerful natural remedy.
  • Ylang-Ylang: Ylang-ylang has a wonderfully flowery scent. The Chinese have used Ylang-ylang to help with acne for centuries. They also use it for skin health for elasticity, smoothing and wrinkles. A great ingredient for anyone concerned with aging skin.
  • Peppermint: What better way to show someone you love them during the holidays then to make a home made peppermint CBD balm. Peppermint essential oil is doted to be excellent for relieving pain and inflammation associated with arthritis. CBD may also help to alleviate arthritis pain.
  • Frankincense: Frankincense is so old its mentioned in ancient texts! For centuries it has been used for its purported anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. It also may help to relieve stress, enhance immune function, improve memory, and reduce the signs of aging like stretch marks. Its scent is slightly sweet, and woodsy/earthy.

What Is CBD Skin Care & Topicals

What are CBD topicals, and are they the right fit for your supplement needs? We will explore these questions in the article below.

The Answer:

CBD or Cannabidiol is seemingly one of the most versatile extracts on the planet today. The compound molecule found in cannabis (hemp and marijuana), is extremely popular for its purported anti-inflammatory properties. The most common skin care products on the market target acne, which is essentially inflammation.

Despite the market saturation of CBD products, skin-care seems like a natural fit. Walk into any health and beauty store and you’ll find many different astringents and facial serums boasting hemp, and this is for good reason. Our customers report high satisfaction with our entire topical line from balms to bath bombs, we’ve got you covered.

A More In-Depth Look At The CBD Topicals

What does the research tell us about CBD topicals?

Research seems to suggest that the major purported benefit of adding CBD to beauty products is related to cannabis natural anti-inflammatory effect in our body. (source)

Other studies have shown that when cannabinoids where applied to skin cells, it stopped overproduction of keratin, a common issue caused by psoriasis. (source)

There are a number of ideas as to why CBD may contribute to the anti-inflammatory response of the dermis. This would be prime applications for managing conditions like eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and acne. All bodily systems have receptors and the skin is no different. Evidence suggests topical applications of CBD could potentially also help with nerve pain signaling and limiting (alleviating) their transmission.

In these studies it is important to note that the results of CBD where seen through topical applications. Shop our line of CBD Skin Care and Topicals Now.

So should I try CBD skin-care products?

Firstly, it is necessary and imperative before using any supplement, extract, or over the counter drug to check with a doctor. Never add anything to your daily regimen before knowing it is needed, necessary, and safe.

Secondly, CBD should be seen as complementary supplementation, never a primary source. Never forgo one form of treatment for another, especially if experiencing relief. Lastly, always purchase high quality products from a trusted source. What you put on your skin or mouth should be just as important as what you put inside.

If you decide to use CBD for topical application ensure your purchase is correct for your needs. Cannabidiol Life Balm for instance contains a higher concentration of cannabidiol, which may help with deep tissue pain and inflammation present in the skin or muscles.

CBD so far has shown to be relatively safe by the Medical Marijuana community and it’s Doctor proponents. Bad reactions to products generally come from additives not the CBD.

How to Make CBD Pre-Rolls

Purchased hemp and are interested in a quick and easy way to enjoy it? Look no further than a pre-roll! Let’s learn how to make one.

The Answer:

Interested in a simple CBD pre-roll recipe to make at home?

Here’s a way to enjoy your favorite strain of high CBD hemp flower with ease. Always check state and local laws before use. Check out our guide to see if CBD is legal in your state.

Simply fill a cone shaped smoking paper (such as those available from smoke shops or online), with your favorite ground CBD strain by packing the ground plant material. (using a “grinder” can help make the material smaller) into the cone delicately with a packing tool, pen or other small object. Take care to avoid packing it too tightly, but also make sure you are not leaving any space or room for air bubbles. When you have filled the pre-roll with the desired amount of flower, rip the remaining paper off and twist the end of the roll closed.

Then sit back, relax and enjoy your favorite CBD strain in a convenient smokeable form. Pre-Rolled Cones revolutionize the smoking industry because they’re much faster and easier to fill than a normal rolling paper.

CBD Pills and Capsules Recipe

CBD Pills and Capsules Recipe

This guide will instruct you on how to make CBD oil infused capsules at home, by using a safe, inexpensive, and relatively simple at-home method. The required materials are relatively inexpensive, and you should be able to find them online or at a local store. The process takes a few hours and can be done in several different ways. Methods can vary depending on what ingredients and equipment you use. This recipe will produce around 45-50 capsules.

This recipe calls for an infusion of coconut oil and soy lecithin. When combined, these two work as an excellent agent to use for metabolizing the cannabinoids as they pass through your digestive system.

Dosing will vary based on factors like the potency of your materials and the ratio of the ingredients you use. There is no exact standard ratio, but the ratio(s) serves as an adequate guideline. You can always experiment later to find your perfect personalized recipe.

Equipment, Ingredients & Materials

  • Double Boiler Setup
  • Parchment paper
  • Cheese cloth
  • Rubber band

  • 1/2 tsp soy lecithin
  • Slow cooker
  • 45 to 50 empty gelatin capsules (size 00)
  • Capsule Filling machine
  • 10mm Syringe  with oral irrigators and tapered deep reach tips
  • Cooking pot with lid

Instructions

STEP 1: DECARBOXYLATION

Preheat oven to 220 degrees Fahrenheit and prepare materials by grinding them finely with a grinder. Spread the grounds across a sheet of parchment paper that has been placed over a baking tray. Ovens will vary in temperature, so it’s important to make sure your oven does not get hotter than 250 degrees Fahrenheit or you risk cooking off the cannabinoids. Bake the material for 30-50 minutes to achieve proper decarboxylation,. Once finished, pull the tray from the oven and place in a safe area. Keep the temperature at 220 degrees if you plan on using your oven for the following steps.

STEP 2: INFUSION

  1. DOUBLE BOILER/OVEN – Start by filling the outer portion of the double boiler 3/4 of the way full with water. Bring it to a soft boil and add your coconut oil and soy lecithin to the inner cooking bowl. Make sure it sits about 1-2 inches above the soft boiling water. After several minutes, your coconut oil and soy lecithin will melt and you can add the cannabis.

Continue to mix the material together until everything is blended well. Empty the hot water out of your cooking pot and then add the oil mixture. Place the pot back in the oven (still at 220 degrees) for an additional 30-45 minutes. Check in a few times as it may be necessary to stir it.

  1. SLOW COOKER- Add your cannabis, coconut oil, and soy lecithin to your slow cooker and turn it to LOW. Allow the material to cook for two hours to achieve proper decarboxylation. Make sure you stir it a few times per hour.

STEP 3: FILLING CAPS

While your oil is finishing in the oven, prepare the size 00 empty gelatin capsules and capsule filling machine. Instructions for your particular machine should come with it. These devices are designed to make capsule filling a much easier, more streamlined process, although the machine is not required.

Now secure the cheese cloth over the rim of the inner portion of your double boiler using the rubber band. When the oil is finished, remove it from the oven and strain the oil through your cheese cloth and into the bowl, catching the unnecessary particulates along the way. Be sure to let the oil cool to a temperature lower than 100 degrees Fahrenheit before filling your syringe with it. Gelatin capsules will melt over 100 degrees, so make sure that your oil is as cool as you can get it before letting it solidify.

Use the syringe’s tapered deep reach tip to feed the oil into the gelatin capsules, one at a time, until you run out of oil; repeat this process accordingly. Once finished, use the instructions on your filling machine to close each capsule. Store the finished caps in a cool, dark place, like the refrigerator until you are ready to use them.

Types of CBD Pills and Capsules

Below, we’ve organized the three main types of CBD pills and capsules, and briefly described each one to assist you in differentiating between them for your convenience.

The Answer:

FULL SPECTRUM CBD OIL GEL CAPS:

A full-spectrum CBD product undergoes less processing than isolates. Manufacturers use dried hemp plant matter to extract cannabinoids. A method called supercritical CO2 extraction is used to draw out these plant compounds. The result is a full-spectrum CBD oil that contains all the cannabinoids that hemp has to offer.

The Award Winning Cannabidiol Life CBD Gel Capsules are extracted from the highest quality industrial hemp in Colorado. Each capsule contains:

  • 25 mg (+/- 1mg) of active phytocannabinoids
  • Whole plant source provides higher comparative cannabinoid percentages (CBD, CBG, CBN, CBC).
  • Federally compliant to less than 0.3% THC per serving
  • HPMC (capsule) derived from vegetable cellulose

BROAD SPECTRUM CBD Oil GEL CAPS

Broad spectrum CBD is like the middle ground between full spectrum CBD and isolate. It begins as a full spectrum CBD oil, with the full range of beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes, but it then goes through a refinement process to remove all THC compounds. Manufactured from our Award Winning Full Spectrum CBD Capsule formula and refined to Broad Spectrum. This means we removed the THC but left the remaining phytocannabinoids.

  • 25mg (+/- 1mg) of CBD & active phytocannabinoids per capsule
  • 750mg of CBD per Bottle
  • 30 Capsules per Bottle
  • Whole plant hemp extracts provide higher cannabinoid percentages (CBD, CBG, CBN, CBC).THC-Free Product, this is called the entourage effect.
  • HPMC (capsule) derived from vegetable cellulose

CBD ISOLATE CAPSULES

CBD isolate is a crystalline solid or powder that contains pure CBD. There are many benefits to using pure CBD powder over other forms of CBD. While preparing CBD isolate for consumption, all other cannabinoids and plant impurities must be removed.

Cannabidiol Life CBD Isolate Capsules are extracted using premium quality industrial hemp from Colorado. 30 capsules per bottle.

Each capsule contains:

  • 100 mg (+/- 1mg) of active cannabidiol
  • Pure CBD isolated, no other cannabinoids
  • 0% THC per serving

Deciding between CBD isolate capsules versus CBD oil pill capsules is similar to determining whether you want a broad spectrum / isolated CBD or a full spectrum one.

I personally believe that the potential benefits of full spectrum are the way to go because it is the most back to nature approach form of supplementation. Our oil pills also have won awards. For these reasons I cannot recommend them enough.

Heard the term CBD capsule or CBD pill but are unsure of what exactly they are? We are happy to help answer any questions you may have below.

The Answer:

CBD pills and capsules are simply CBD taken in pill or gel capsule form. If you would like to learn more about CBD (cannabidiol) specifically click here. Otherwise keep reading to learn more.

Typically the only difference between pills and capsules is that pure CBD isolate might be packed into condensed pills while broad and full-spectrum CBD oils are often used to fill capsules.

The convenient form of CBD pills and capsules make them, perhaps, the best way to take CBD if you don’t enjoy the taste of hemp oil. Furthermore, by choosing to buy CBD gel capsules from Cannabidiol Life, you remove the stress and worry when it comes to making sure your dosing is accurate. Each of the CBD pills that we sell have extremely consistent doses that are clearly marked on the product label. However, if you want to experiment with dosing amounts or If you want to make your own CBD capsules at home, see

Choosing to use CBD pills as a dietary supplement instead of CBD oil is more convenient for some people because it offers quick, easy, and extremely accurate dosage. Cannabidiol Life’s gel caps contain an exact amount of CBD, providing an efficient and tasteless form of supplementation.

CBD oil is not necessarily the easiest way to add CBD to one’s diet due to potential administration errors. One must take the exact number of oil drops to achieve their desired result. This may make tincture usage less ideal for some people, plus it could be messy compared to capsules.

Full-spectrum hemp oil gel caps may be taken with or without food. In order to experience the best results, we recommend that you take your suggested serving of CBD at the same time each day.

This will allow your body to establish a positive feedback loop and be optimally primed to absorb the wellness support benefits that CBD can offer.

New and different products enter the market daily, and this is no different in the CBD sphere. For our pets we always want whats best, they are like our children.

It is my hope that this article has made you aware of the types of CBD products available for pets, and which may potentially be right for them.

What is CBD Oil for Pets

What is CBD Oil for Pets

Here we cover all things CBD for pets. Learn what CBD does for pets, why you may consider supplementation, and potential benefits.

The Answer:

CBD oil for pets generally isn’t that different from regular CBD oil meant for human consumption. The main difference is that sometimes the CBD oil is infused with pet food or treats, and the product has been manufactured to ensure all the ingredients are safe for pets. Certain CBD oil brands for humans might contain extra ingredients that aren’t meant for pet consumption so it’s a good idea to check ingredient labels and lab test reports to verify what’s in your CBD oil before giving it to your pets.

As our pets increase in age, or go through changes in weight, lifestyle, or diet they can begin to experience health problems. When these problems do occur, they can take various forms. As bad as that is alone, these problems can be made even worse by high veterinary costs associated with treating them.

What can seem like a small problem at first, can sometimes quickly snowball into a major financial burden as prices for treatment, medications, and surgery and follow up visits quickly add up.

As pet owners, it’s hard to be forced to make life changing decisions for our pets because of financial restrictions, but how can we avoid what seems like an inevitability?

While it’s impossible to know exactly what the future holds, we can take preventative measures to care for our pets today in hopes to avoid potential problems later. One way we can do this is by ensuring our pets are getting enough nutrition by adding supplements like CBD to their diet.

More info about cbd oil for pets

After all, we take supplements ourselves when we want to stay healthy, so why not do the same for our pets? Scientific studies show that cannabidiol oil not only has wondrous potential for human beings, but also for our pets. In fact, did you know that virtually all animals have an endocannabinoid system? It’s hard to believe, but it’s true, even those squishy invertebrates have one. This means that their bodies have a system specifically designed to interact with cannabinoids like CBD just like ours.

Cannabidiol Life CBD oil for dogs & cats is produced by extracting CBD from hemp plants. It can be added to food, or applied to treats. In fact, Cannabidiol life also offers dog treats already infused with CBD for your convenience. One should keep in mind that just like humans, every animal can react differently. That’s why pet owners should consult with their veterinarian before giving CBD to their pet. If they approve it’s also important to know that the common dosing rule for cats and dogs is 1-5 milligrams for every 10 pounds of body weight.

Veterinarians also warn against mixing CBD with other prescription medications your pet might be using, since CBD can interact with other substances in the body, especially medicines that are metabolized in the liver. Finally, when purchasing CBD supplements for your pet, make sure to choose a high quality organic oil, from a company that can demonstrate proper certificates of authenticity and verify their ingredients in third party lab tests.

CBD is known to promote a relaxed state that reduces sensitivity to external stressors. Many people have seen a noticeable difference in their pet’s behavior while under the effects of CBD in circumstances that would normally stress them out like during a thunderstorm or when fireworks are going off, for instance.

Giving CBD to your pets is easy. Giving them a few drops of CBD in their food a breeze. Alternatively, you can buy dog treats with CBD baked right in. Treats allow for slower digestion and absorption, and may help with the overall health and wellness of your pet by extending the amount of time they are affected by the cannabinoid.

We hope you found this information helpful and that your fuzzy friends live long, happy and healthy lives

How to make CBD Oil

How to make CBD Oil

Here are some simple ways you can make CBD oil without expensive equipment or a lot of know how. The two main methods are listed below:

The Answer:

Oil Method

The method extracting CBD oil that is actually known as the “Oil Method” is considered to be one of the safest ways of doing so. With this method, you simply need to use a carrier oil, such as coconut oil, or even olive oil can work. This method is gaining popularity due to its simplicity and safety. This method is also cleaner than some others and your end result will be free of additional unwanted residues.

Before getting started with this method, it’s important to understand that the quality of the starting materials you use (particularly the quality of the cannabis) will dictate the quality of the final product. This is why it is best to pick a high-quality strain that was sourced from a reputed retailer.

First your will need to decarboxylate your cannabis. If you aren’t familiar with the process of decarboxylation. To get started, choose buds, leaves, and stems of a high-quality cannabis plant. Then, bake the buds and leaves at a temperature of approximately 220°F for about 90 minutes. This process heats the plant at a certain temperature for a specific period of time in order to activate the plant’s chemicals.

Next, use a mason jar to mix the ground-up cannabis with the carrier oil of your choice. Be sure to fully saturate the decarboxylated cannabis with the oil. You can adjust the quantity of oil depending on how potent you want the end result to be. Secure the jar lid.

Place the mason jar over the top of a pot similar to the way you would use a double boiler. Heat the water in the pot use a thermometer until reaches a temperature of at least 200 degrees.

Regularly check the pot to ensure the water is not evaporating too quickly, if it’s necessary to add more, make sure you do so carefully to avoid splashing.

Turn off the stove after letting the oil mixture simmer for three hours. Then allow it to sit and cool for another three hours.

Once this is done, it is recommended to heat the oil mixture again for another three hours, then leave it to cool again overnight.

Your CBD oil will be ready to use the next morning, but first make sure you strain the mixture through cheesecloth and store it in a cool, dark and dry place.

Alcohol Method

The alcohol method, also known as the ethanol method, does not require special skills or advanced equipment, making it a great choice for beginners.

One of the pros of this CBD oil-extraction process is that it uses simple alcohol as the extracting agent. This process does not leave an unpleasant taste or odour as opposed to some other agents.

Start by placing the cannabis in a ceramic or glass bowl. Then cover it with alcohol and stir for approximately six minutes. Once this is done, use a wood spoon to extract the resin produced as a result of the process.

Place a straining bag or sieve in the bowl in order to filter out the solvent. Squeeze out as much of the extract as possible. If you think that more oil extraction is possible you can repeat this process until you aren’t able to get any more.

In a double boiler, pour the extracted oil and heat it until bubbles start to form. The aim is to make the alcohol evaporate without raising the temperature too high. Wait until the oil simmers for about thirty minutes on a very low flame or setting. Once the alcohol evaporates completely, stir the mixture and turn off the flame.

Once cooled, transfer the concentrated extract to a storage bottle with a tight lid in a cool, dark and dry place. It’s recommended to allow this to sit for at least two to three hours before use.

Types of CBD Vape Pens

Types of CBD Vape Pens

Whether you are looking to use CBD vape oil or concentrates like CBD wax and CBD crystals, finding the right hardware is an integral component. Want to know about the different types of CBD vape pens? Cannabidiol Life has some product guidance for you below.

The Answer:

Disposable CBD vape pens:

These are CBD vape pens, contain a battery, atomizer and pre-loaded cartridges with CBD juice. They are cigarette-style vape pens and are created to offer a few hundred puffs before the cartridge empties. These pens require no charging and are meant to be disposed off after use.

Refillable CBD vape pens:

These are cbd vape pens that can be refilled with CBD vape oil or ejuice. They generally have a tank that attaches to a rechargeable standard battery, offering an easy to use pen-style form, small in size and light in weight. These pens can make more sense economically, as they can cater to different vaping styles, unlike disposable pens.

Based on the contents of the cartridges, CBD pens can contain CO2 oil, distillates and additives:

CO2 Oil:

High-grade CO2 extracted oils do not need any additives to reach the viscosity levels required to vaporize in an atomizer and are specifically suitable for use with vaporizer cartridges. Moderate levels of plant-based terpenes are maintained in these oils, acting as natural thinning agents and rendering specific flavors to the oils.

Distillates:

CBD distillates are highly refined oils consisting of pure cannabinoids and nearly no other substance. The advantage of using distillates in vaporizer cartridges is that a wide variety of grades of hash oil can be purified into a distillate although the viscosity of the material cannot be adjusted as there are no left-over terpenes.

Additives:

Additives are used in vape cartridge oils as a supplemental thinning agent and decrease the viscosity of oils required for the functioning of a standard atomizer. Commonly used additives are polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, or medium chain triglycerides, such as coconut oil.

Types of CBD Oil

Types of CBD Oil

Curious about different types of CBD oil? Perhaps you’ve heard terms like Broad or Full Specturm in regards to CBD oil, but aren’t sure what they mean? Keep reading below to find out more:

The Answer:

When it comes to CBD oil, there are two main types. They are known as broad-spectrum CBD oil and full-spectrum CBD oil.

While these two terms sound similar, they are far from the same.

So, what do they mean and how are they different?

Simply put these terms are used to define what kind of CBD is used in a product.

Each type presents important factors to consider, and understanding the difference is essential for every CBD user.

This article will attempt to shed some light on this important subject by explaining the difference and listing some advantages and disadvantages of each type.

Full-Spectrum vs. Broad-Spectrum

The main thing to know is that the contents of the refined cannabis extract are what determines if it is full spectrum, or broad spectrum.

Full Spectrum CBD

Full spectrum CBD is an extract that contains all of the naturally occurring chemical compounds in the cannabis plant, including terpenes, essential oils, and other cannabinoids like THC.

Full spectrum refers to the fact that this kind of extract incorporates the full spectrum of cannabinoids, terpenes, and essential oils of the plant that work together to magnify the therapeutic benefits of each individual cannabinoid. This is commonly what’s referred to as the “entourage effect“.

For instance, CBD’s ability to counteract some of the psychotic effects of THC, like anxiety.

Full spectrum oils are best for individuals who were recommended a certain THC to CBD ratio or individuals with more severe conditions.

Broad Spectrum CBD

Broad spectrum CBD is like a mix between full spectrum CBD and 100% pure CBD Isolate.

Like full spectrum CBD, the other compounds found within the plant are preserved in the extract, however virtually all traces of THC are completely removed.

This is done in order to prevent any minor psychoactive effects a person could experience from a full spectrum oil that they might not want.

Broad spectrum CBD still contains multiple cannabinoids and can deliver the enhanced benefits of the “entourage effect,” without the risk of psychoactive effects of THC.

Broad Spectrum CBD is best for individuals with conditions that CBD alone can help potentially alleviate, individuals with a sensitivity to THC, individuals living in states that have strict THC-laws and first time CBD users that are hesitant about THC.

Conclusion

Keep in mind that one type of CBD oil isn’t necessarily better than the others, but not all brands are the same.

It’s important to shop with a reputable company who can verify their products with certificates of authenticity and third party lab results to ensure you are getting a genuine quality CBD product.

For some, Broad Spectrum CBD may be the best choice as it delivers the full benefits of the Cannabis plant without the psychoactive effects of THC. While others may need a benefit that only THC in conjunction with CBD can provide. It may take some experimenting to figure out which is best for you.

The Answer:

CBD Oil at home step by a step beginner’s guide

What to Know

The DIY (Do It Yourself) course produces a full spectrum tincture, which means it contains everything extracted from your hemp flower, including traces of THC and other cannabinoids, like CBN and CBG. For most people, this is a good thing, because it means you’ll benefit from the entourage effect; these other cannabinoids and terpenes enhance the properties of CBD, while bringing their own benefits to the table.  Now, in this article, we’ll talk about the easiest ways of making CBD oil at home.

Materials Needed:

  • Carrier Oil
  • Hemp flower
  • Baking sheet
  • Crockpot or Boiler
  • Grinder for herbs
  • Cheesecloth, coffee filter, or nut milk bag (to screen the oil)
  • Glass jar(s) with a sealable lid for storage

CBD OIL RECIPE

Different Way to Make CBD Oil

In order to properly measure the CBD oil, you can use our edible potency calculator.  It is important to factor in the amount of CBD contained in your raw materials to start with.

How to Make CBD Oil with Coconut, Olive, and MTC Oil (h1 or h2)

Oil Method

The’ Oil Method’ of extracting cannabidiol oil is considered one of the safest methods of doing so. You will need to utilize a carrier oil, for example coconut oil or olive oil.  Organic is best for most natural results.

A step-by-step guide to making CBD oil through the oil method
:

Know that the quality of cannabis used will determine the quality of your final product. We suggest picking a high-quality strain.

  1. Select high quality buds, stems, and leaves off the hemp plant. Place the buds through the process of decarboxylation. Bake the buds and leaves at 215°F for 90 minutes minutes.
  2. In a jar, blend the ground-up hemp with the carrier oil of your choice (16 oz MCT oil, olive oil or coconut oil) and then soak it in the carrier oil.
  3. When saturation occurs, bring the oil-hemp mixture to a boil.  Tighten the mason jar lid to ensure no steam or water leaks into the oil.
  4. Place a towel at the bottom of the pan and the mason jar at the top and fill the pan with water until it reaches at least 200 degrees. (Make sure to use a thermometer)
  5. Consistently check the pan to confirm that the water has not evaporated. Switch off the stove after letting the oil simmer for three hours. Then allow it sit for another three hours.
  6. When this has finished, we recommended heating the oil again for another three hours, then again turn off the heat, and leave it over night for the following day.
  7. Your CBD full spectrum oil is now ready! Proceed by straining it through a strainer or straining cloth and store your mixture in a cool, dark and dry place.

Conclusion

While there are quality CBD oils available to buy, we believe learning how to make cbd oil at home is manageable, affordable, and with minimal risk. Oil extraction uses low heat to gradually extract CBD indirectly minus any harsh fumes or flammability. It’s the safest and simplest way to supply yourself with homemade CBD oil.  Extracting your own CBD oil from hemp flower is relatively straightforward and is easy to use.

Types of CBD Gummies

Types of CBD Gummies

CBD Gummies come in many different forms, and may even target specific conditions like anxiety or inflammation. This really depends on the manufacturer, and how they have chosen to use their CBD extract when combined with the gelatin treats.

The primary distinctions between CBD-rich hemp extract gummies while disregarding the obvious (shape, color, taste) are two things:

  1. Type of CBD product
  2. Production method

Now, let’s break down the above for a more direct answer on the types of CBD gummies available on the market.

The Answer:

There are three (3) specific types of CBD products and there are three (3) different manufacturing methods used (more or less).

The three types of CBD products are:

The two production methods are:

Using the X, Y variable counting method, there are a total of 9 types of CBD gummies.*

*Number does not include shape, size, & flavor as these variables hold no significant value to the CBD consumer. Furthermore, it is possible for gummies to incorporate multiple types of CBD products and production. An example of this would be a  “full-spectrum, infused, sprayed, and tossed CBD Gummy.”*

Variables are variables, but for educational purposes, there are the 9 types of CBD gummies found on the market today.

Product Manufacturing Types

Full Spectrum CBD Gummies

Full-spectrum means that the CBD sourced was extracted from cannabis plants like hemp with full cannabinoid, terpene, and flavonoid profiles. This means it contains the entire cannabinoid profile from extraction, it has not been manipulated to isolate or remove specifics.

Full-spectrum, for instance, contains THC, the cannabinoid responsible for the “high” effect we associate with marijuana. Full-spectrum CBD, if sourced from hemp, or according to standards for legal purposes, should contain less than 0.3% THC which shouldn’t influence a drug test nor cause any psychotropic side effects.

Broad Spectrum CBD Gummies

Broad-spectrum gummies use cannabinoid extracts that through processing or manipulation, have removed certain cannabinoids. This may produce for instance a full cannabinoid profile gummy that has selectively removed all THC.

Generally, another potential negative of broad-spectrum gummies is that they don’t offer the entourage effect because it is missing some phytocannabinoids, flavonoids, and terpenes from the plants that the broad-spectrum CBD extract was sourced from.

Pure CBD Gummies

These are gummies that only have pure CBD incorporated in the mix. The product used for this is CBD isolate and is a form of extraction that scientifically targets a specific cannabinoid. What is important to note here is that having no other cannabinoids to support the CBD molecule may potentially undermine its effectiveness.

Now that we have discussed the types of CBD used in gummies, we can move on to the different types of production.

Production TYpes

CBD infused gummies

Gummies that have been infused with CBD, may contain oil or isolate within the mixture before production. Some gummies like Cannabidiol Life Vegan Gummies incorporate hemp extract directly into the product. Infused gummies may have an herb or plant-like taste, often sweetened or enhanced for a more natural feel and integrity.

CBD sprayed gummies

Gummies produced in this way incorporate one of the extraction methods into a water or oil-based adhesive concoction that will stick and dry on gummies. This is generally how companies add CBD in a cost-effective way or may increase or decrease already infused gummies for an extra kick.

CBD rolled/tossed gummies

Gummies produced in this fashion will have CBD isolate directly applied as an additive to whatever sweetener is flaked onto them. Generally, gummies produced in this way blend isolate mixed with sweetener which is then tossed with wet gummies until fully coated and then placed to dry.

Examples of these would be infused with melatonin for sleep or infused with GABA and lemon balm for anxiety; the possibilities are endless.

CBD edibles are a great way to enjoy the benefits of cannabis in a delicious way without the need for smoking. We hope you’ve enjoyed these simple recipes and will continue to experiment and have fun with your own recipes and ideas for cooking with CBD.

Types of CBD Edibles

Forms of CBD Edibles

Oils

While CBD oils are not usually thought of as edibles, it’s best to include them on the list from a technical standpoint, as CBD oils are edible in the same way other consumable oils are. CBD oil is similar to various vegetable oils, and can be used in cooking, but is different because it has been infused with cannabinoids. Cannabis oils are available to medical cannabis patients in a variety of blends for various applications. They are also available for purchase online in CBD legal states by persons over the age of eighteen.

Canna Butter & Baked Goods

More commonly used to make CBD edibles than CBD oils, cannabis-infused butter (or cannabutter), is an ingredient that is used to make many forms of cannabis infused goods. Heating raw cannabis in melted butter allows the cannabinoids to be extracted into the fat. The plant material is then usually strained out of the melted butter via a cheesecloth or other mesh filter and discarded. Cannabis-infused butter is ideal for CBD based baked goods or other cannabis based recipes. This includes brownies, cookies, cakes and even donuts.

Gummies

CBD gummies are possibly the most popular of all CBD edible products, and why shouldn’t they be? Gummies are a fun and delicious way to enjoy your daily dose of CBD! Best of all, flavor isn’t their only selling point. Another benefit of these gummies is the convenience that they offer. Each gummy contains a predetermined amount of CBD, taking the guesswork out of getting your recommended daily dose when compared to having to measure it out, like with a tincture for instance. Also, since gummies are such a common snack, they are discrete. Just remember, try to stick to your minimum dose!

Chocolates

Available in bite sizes, or bars. CBD chocolates are arguably the most delicious way to enjoy CBD. Of course CBD chocolate is available in a wide variety of forms and flavors as virtually any chocolate can be infused with CBD!

Caramels

If you prefer something a little more salty than sweet, then CBD caramels are the answer. Just like CBD chocolates, CBD caramels are simply another mouth-watering way to enjoy your daily dose of CBD.

CBD Chocolate Chip Cookies

This simple, but delicious, CBD chocolate chip cookie recipe is our very favorite. We consider this recipe to be one of the very best for cookies with a copious amount of chocolate, a warm gooey center, and the added health benefits of CBD!

This recipe makes about 20 cookies:

Prep Time: 20 Minutes

Cook Time: 20 Minutes

INGREDIENTS:

8 1/2 ounces cake flour about 2 cups minus 1 tbsp

8 1/2 ounces bread flour 1 2/3 cup

1 1/4 tsp of baking soda

1 1/2 tsp of baking powder

1 tsp ground nutmeg

1 1/2 tsp salt

3 tsp cornstarch

200-500 mg CBD oil* (See note)

1 1/4 cup unsalted butter

10 ounces dark brown sugar 1 1/4 cup

8 ounces granulated sugar 1 cup plus 2 tbsp

2 eggs

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 1/4 pounds dark chocolate pieces, add sea salt if you wish

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: We recommend using 200 mg of CBD for roughly a 10 mg dose per cookie. Alternatively if you want a stronger dose per cookie you could use 500 mg of CBD oil to give each cookie approximately 25 mg of CBD. However, if you increase the dosage, you may want to remove a tablespoon or two of butter to balance out adding more CBD oil in order to prevent the cookies from becoming too oily.

CBD Chocolate Chip Cookies

Step 1: Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, cornstarch and salt into a bowl. Set aside.

Step 2: Using a mixer with egg beater attachment(s), cream the butter, CBD, and sugars together until very lightly mixed. This should take about 5 minutes.

Step 3: Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each one. Stir in vanilla. Reduce speed to low and add dry ingredients. Then mix them together until just combined. This should only take about five to ten seconds.

Step 4: Evenly mix in chocolate chips and incorporate them without breaking them if possible. Press plastic wrap against dough and refrigerate for 24 to 36 hours. The dough may be used in batches, and can be refrigerated for up to 72 hours.

Step 5: When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a nonstick baking mat. Set aside.

Step 6: Scoop six 3 1/2-ounce mounds of dough (roughly the size of golf balls) evenly onto the baking sheet spread out at least 2-3 inches apart. Sprinkle lightly with sea salt if desired and bake until golden brown, but still soft. Around 18 to 20 minutes.

Step 7: When done baking, allow the cookies to cool on the sheet for roughly 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

What Are CBD Edibles?

See below for more information:

The Answer:

A CBD edible is a food product that contains a negligible amount of THC, and instead is dominant in cannabidiol (CBD).

These edibles are used as a tasty treat, but also for supplement purposes. Food and drink that is made from non-psychoactive cannabis products like CBD, are known as hemp foods.

Although edibles may refer to either food or drink, cannabis-infused drinks may also be referred to specifically as a liquid edible or a drinkable. For more information on what CBD does for the body, click here.

CBD crystals are a completely pure, isolated form of CBD. This form resembles white powder.

If the product contains terpenes, plant materials, oils, or other lesser cannabinoids it will look an off-white, yellow or pink tinge. This may enhance the effects of CBD through taste or potency due to synergy between different substances.1

CBD crystals are generally made from industrial hemp plants, beginning with the breakdown of stalks and stems to obtain the natural compounds in the plant. The CBD crystal creation process involves similar steps as how to make CBD oil, which are the processing, extraction and purification of hemp.2

However, as opposed to CBD oil, the manufacturing of CBD crystals, goes one step further in that it separates the CBD from the resin that was extracted from the hemp plant. It may then be isolated and contain only the CBD cannabinoid. Other terpenes, flavonoids, etc may be added at a later time for sales. The process by which CBD is crystalized is called chromatography. In this completely isolated form, CBD exists as a white, clear-ish crystalline solid, therefore called “CBD crystals”.3

What equipment is required to create CBD crystals?

CBD crystals are created using specialized equipment and processes. While processing and extraction2,3,4 of CBD crystals is similar to CBD oil, careful attention must be paid to the purification and isolation of CBD.

Hemp selectionHigh CBD Hemp is used for the creation of CBD crystals.

Processing – The processing of CBD hemp involves harvesting, drying and grinding the flower buds, stalks, and even stems.

Extraction – The extraction of CBD can be done with cold Ethanol, Butane Hashish Oil (BHO) or Carbon Dioxide (CO2). Cold Ethanol is the best extraction method for reducing fats in extract. The colder the Ethanol, the lower the fat taken out from the plant. BHO extraction extracts a moderate amount of fats. CO2 extraction extracts the highest amount of fat from the plant.

How To Make CBD Crystals Continued

Refinement – Refinement or purification of CBD involves winterization, filtration, distillation and chromatography.4,5

  • Winterization – After extraction, the CBD mixture is added into 190 proof alcohol and mixed properly with stirring. Then it is placed in a deep freezer, chest freezer, walk-in freezer or dry ice for about 24 hours to reach the freezing point of Ethanol which is -76°C. This will lead to the precipitation of waxes which can be separated by filtration.

  • Filtration – Various filters can be used, starting at a higher micron filter, changing to a medium filter, and then finally using the smallest micron filter for the finest particles of wax. Vacuum assisted filters and metal filters can also be used, although they are expensive compared to paper filters, but are reusable and don’t tear apart.

  • Chromatography – Chromatography is a process which separates a mixture into its constituents or parts. The CBD mixture (liquid phase) is passed through a stationary phase which is either solid (alumina, sand, silica gel) or liquid (water, methanol or heptane).  The liquid phase moves through each cell in series and compounds diffuse into the stationary phase at different rates according to their relative affinities for the two phases which leads to separation into the constituents.

  • Distillation – Distillation removes alcohol using heat. The mixture is warmed in the glass vessel, which leads to alcohol evaporation since the boiling point of alcohol is lower than the oil. The ejected alcohol vapors are reconverted into liquid by attached condenser and can be reused.

Isolation – The isolation and crystallization of CBD are done by mixing CBD with pentane as the solvent in a glass jacketed vessel with stirring.  A heating/cooling bath is connected to the vessel jacket and is used to control the temperature of the vessel. The mixture is heated to 45°C which permits the dissolution of the oil and then cooled to 5°C. CBD crystals will form immediately and separate from the pentane solution. This is followed by vacuum filtration to remove the pentane, rinsing the crystals and removing them.6

Safety procedures during CBD crystal creation

Safety procedures are required to be followed during the CBD crystal creation process. The facility must be GMP certified and must be safe in terms of design and purpose for handling all types of materials.7

Design – The equipment must be designed to handle the solvent being used. Generally, stainless steel materials are used. Pay attention to electrical components for flammable and non-flammable solvents, pressure rating and valve protection.

Purpose – The equipment needs to be constructed for its intended use. It must be accessible for cleaning and welds in contact must be flushed and polished.

Human consumption – The solvents used must be safe for human consumption. CO2 and Ethanol are FDA approved for human consumption.

Do not try CBD crystals at home

You should not try making CBD crystals at home. Thorough knowledge of chemical processes is required for handling CBD. This is essential for your own safety as well as creation of pure crystals. On the other hand, you can make your own CBD products by adding them to edibles such as cookies, brownies or sprinkle them over tea or coffee or adding them to your moisturizing creams. You can also vape them or add them to coconut oil to make CBD oil.

Before purchasing, one should ensure that the CBD crystals are created from high CBD hemp, have passed third party lab testing, and are made following Good Manufacturing Practice standards.

CBD Crystal Creation guide

This process requires technologically advanced and often very expensive equipment that is beyond the reach or skill level of the average person.

This guide is meant to be supplemental to manufacturers of CBD concentrates who already have a basic understanding of this type of process.

Solvents like Pentane and Butane pose explosion, fire, and other risks and should not be handled by a novice.

In order to create CBD crystals, one must first start with extracted CBD oil that has been distilled. The CBD oil mixture will also need to have been winterized.

If you are not already aware, winterization is an oil refinement technique commonly used in biotechnology.

The process involves dissolving the extract in ethanol, then placing the mixture in a freezer to chill. Typically the end result should be a clear mixture. If the mixture is cloudy, that indicates the presence of contaminants.

If that is the case, one can attempt the winterization process again until the mixture becomes completely clear. Failing to use a clear mixture for the crystals can result in a poor quality product.

Step By Step Guide

Dissolving CBD Oil

Disclaimer: Pentane can be dangerous. Use extreme caution and always use safety equipment when working with solvents. Consult a safety officer before use.

For this step, a glass jacketed receptacle with a heating bath and automatic stirring device is required.

Step 1: Dissolve the clear CBD oil in pentane.

Make sure the glass jacketed receptacle has a vent or a condenser that is connected to a blower motor or fume hood for pentane vapors.

Pentane WILL release harmful vapors when heated. Use extreme caution and take all proper precautions to ensure these fumes are not inhaled and are properly ventilated.

Make sure the receptacle condenser is cooled to -20 °C. Generally you can add one part pentane to three parts CBD oil. Some oils will require a different ratio of pentane to oil.

Next, turn on stirring device and the heating bath and set it to 45 °C. Wait until the solution reaches 45 °C and the oil has been fully dissolved.

Step 2: Precipitation

Set the bath to 5 °C and reduce the stirring speed. As the solution cools it will become more viscous. Adjust the stirrer to keep the RPM above 120. CBD crystals will spontaneously form out of the pentane solution.

Step 3: Collect CBD Crystals

When it is obvious that no more crystals are going to form, physically remove the CBD crystals. Then, vacuum filter the crystals to remove any excess fluid. Finally, rinse the crystals with ice-cold pentane.

This will cleanse impurities from the crystal surfaces, but be advised that while more rinses with pentane can improve crystal color, this will cause you to lose some of the crystal’s mass.

Note: CBD crystals can be redissolved and then recrystallized to improve the potency even further.

It is possible to crystallize CBD from low purity crude or poorly refined oil. However, low starting purity will reduce both yield and purity of the crystallized CBD.

The lower purity CBD isolate will have more color, smell, and THC content than if you used distillate. This will cause you to need a re-crystallization step, which is not the end of the world, but does have a real cost.

The Answer:

Many products in today’s world aren’t naturally derived, or as pure as CBD crystals. For this reason, a lot of people are seeking natural remedies and alternatives to synthetic products in order to help them deal with conditions like chronic pain, depression, anxiety and more. Another part of the reason for the rise in the popularity of CBD crystals is the exposure they are receiving on the internet. This product was once less conventional, and thus harder to find, but because of the world wide web, even once hard to find items are now within reach for the average, everyday consumer.

Ways to use the CBD crystals

There are numerous ways to use CBD crystals, which may make it useful for overcoming particular challenges with certain medical conditions and their symptoms. One of the benefits of CBD crystals is their versatility. They are versatile in the fact that they can be either inhaled or consumed as an edible. This might offer some value in the sense that some people may have difficulty eating, but not inhaling or vice versa.

Here are some of the products CBD crystals can be used in:

  1. Edibles

The CBD crystals can be taken in edible form, although it is less conventional. This is best done by mixing the product with natural fatty foods such as cheese, butter, milk, and certain cooking oils. Unsurprisingly, one of the most popular forms of edible CBD is in CBD chocolates and other sweet treats. This is why the edible products containing natural and pure CBD crystals are more popular than the others because they are easy to consume without experiencing the natural taste that some may find unpleasant.

  1. Topical & Massage Oils

Although it is highly unconventional to use CBD crystals in a massage oil or topical. There are topical forms of CBD that can be used by massaging it on the skin or the affected area. This method of CBD use can potentially help with getting rid of pain in a specific area. One method some have found successful is to rub CBD topicals into the temples to help relieve headache.

  1. Capsules

CBD capsules are a convenient edible form of CBD. Although typically not made with CBD crystals, it is possible to grind them down into a powder form to be used in CBD capsules. The main difference being that, unlike most CBD edibles that are made with CBD oil, capsules can contain CBD crystals that can be taken in a highly concentrated form.

How to Use CBD Crystals

There are a few ways to use CBD crystals to gain their benefits. The most common method is smoking or vaporizing them. The reason this is so popular is because this method allows the user to feel the effects of CBD almost immediately. In addition to smoking or vaping, some users choose to dissolve their crystals into common cooking oils and use them for baking edibles. This gives the user strong, and long lasting effects. Here’s a step by step breakdown of the five most common ways of using CBD crystals.

1: Dabbing

CBD dabs is by far and away the most popular method of CBD crystal use. Dabbing is when a person inhales a hit or ‘dab’ of vapor from melting the concentrate on an extremely hot surface. It is safer than smoking, as you are technically just inhaling vapor of concentrated CBD, and not smoke from raw plant material that can contain other harsh chemicals.

2: Make Your Own CBD Oil

It seems a little counter productive, but some people enjoy using CBD crystals to make their own CBD oil. This can be easily done by dissolving the crystals in coconut oil or other common oils. This is done by simmering the mixture in a pot on the stove and  slowly stirring the mixture until fully dissolved.

3: Bake Edibles with CBD Crystals

This method involves infusing CBD crystals with coconut oil or butter and then using it for cooking or baking. simply melt your butter or oil into a pot and set the temperature to low. Then, add your desired amount of CBD Crystals to the pot and stir for about five minutes, or until the crystals have fully dissolved. After that the oil or butter should be fully infused with CBD. That means it’s ready to be used for cooking. Just substitute the amount of butter or oil that the recipe calls for with your CBD version and enjoy.

Additional Uses For CBD Crystals

The methods covered above are the most popular methods of CBD crystal use, however they are not the only methods.

There are even more, alternative ways, they can be used that have not been mentioned for brevity. One example is making your own CBD infused skin care products.

Always check with your doctor or healthcare professional before using CBD products or starting a CBD regiment, as CBD can interact with certain medications.

How To Make CBD Water

How To Make CBD Water

Interested in learning about CBD water and how it’s made?  Continue reading below for our in depth CBD water guide.

The Answer:

CBD or Cannabidiol is an increasingly popular supplement for health and wellness. CBD is a cannabinoid sourced from cannabis sativa plants like hemp and marijuana. Cannabidiol can be extracted from cannabis numerous ways, and this versatility allows it to be added to many different types of products for different needs. One of the more interesting ways to use CBD is as an additive to water.

CBD water is increasingly popular, as it allows you to consume your daily serving of cannabidiol easily. The other beautiful aspect is you can make your own using water soluble CBD Liposomes. The combinations are endless as evidence when searching CBD Water online, products range from flavored seltzers to area sourced brands.

Water Soluble CBD Is Innovative

Everyone knows from cooking that oil and water don’t exactly blend, especially once left to sit, and this is known as immiscibility. Oil molecules are “nonpolar” so they don’t react with polar molecules like water. You will notice this is you try to add purchased CBD oil directly into a water bottle. The larger oil particles will float on the surface like brown teardrops. The liposomal form of CBD is small and stable enough to dissolve fully into water.

Infusing water with CBD particles has created a highly bioavailable product free of high temperature or irradiation. Liposomes also are free of emulsifiers and synthetics, commonly used for blending oil and water. Liposomes create a more natural reaction rather than forcing stability through artificial needs.

How to Make CBD Drinking Water

Making CBD water, or any other form of liquid drink, is easy at home. Simply begin by purchasing water soluble CBD from a reputable vendor, preferably one that is liposomal based (there are other forms of water soluble CBD). Next add your desired amount of CBD to your drink but make sure that it is not hot.  CBD has a boiling point of 320 degrees and 356 degrees Fahrenheit. If the product reaches these temperatures it will lose potency, flavor, terpenes, flavonoids, and cannabinoids.
